Harlem Renaissance Project

  Harlem Renaissance Sketch(Jacob Lawrence Tribute)

Harlem Renaissance Sketch(Update)

Final Artwork

Medium: Newspaper, Acrylics, and Colored Pencils

The Black History Month Tribute/Harlem Renaissance piece is something worked tirelessly on. The mediums used include acrylics for the silhouette, colored pencils for the cutouts, and newspaper for the background. The hardest part was adding the background which required me to cut the newspaper in specific shapes to fit around the shapes. In general,  I wanted to make something different and it turned out better than i expected.

  1. I love the direction you're taking following the project description. It has really brought together a lot of the elements Mrs. Rojas has been asking for. Can not wait to see it colored and finished!
