Coffee Shop Design

Image
Coffee Shop Design Medium: Sharpie Marker, Colored Pencil, and Pencil    This coffee shop design showcases words in formation of a nice, toasty cup of coffee.  I specifically integrated the colors red, white, and blue to tie in this representative design.

Final Project

Image
Kendrick Essence Medium:Graphite Pencils I am pleased to claim this as my final project. It utilizes many things I've learned such as proportion, value, and perspective which has paid off. The final piece was made to closely resemble a photo taken which also required me to create various textures-this challenged me. Overall, this project took a lot out of me I didn't know I had & I'm very proud of the outcome.  To explain this piece, I wanted to portrait Kendrick Lamar in a different light/side than what he's given in the media. It paints him as a compassionate rapper with real common issues.

Pen & Ink

Foxit Medium: Paper, Ink, and Pen Foxit is a complex ink painting I did with no experience. The pen and ink was extremely frustrating because I had no prior experience to doing  it. I'm glad it turned out the way it did and I feel confident to know I was able to incorporate my style while at the same time balancing these things. Personally, I'm very proud of this.

Still Life

Image
Rural Life on Edge (Medium: Drawing/Value Pencils) This is a life/ perspective drawing that I did of plain household objects from my closet. I can say it's my favorite out of my portfolio because it challenged me to create different textures and learn various techniques in the process. I also used my best medium in the process. This piece also symbolizes my mature style in using minimal details.

Facial/Body Proportion Drawing

"Just a Photo?"                                                      Medium: Charcoal + Graphite Pencils                               I drew my brother's upper body and face in proportion using charcoal and                                             graphite pencils. The proportion really did help develop my people drawing                                           skills.

Harlem Renaissance Project

Image
Harlem Renaissance Sketch(Jacob Lawrence Tribute) Harlem Renaissance Sketch(Update) Final Artwork  Medium: Newspaper, Acrylics, and Colored Pencils The Black History Month Tribute/Harlem Renaissance piece is something worked tirelessly on. The mediums used include acrylics for the silhouette, colored pencils for the cutouts, and newspaper for the background. The hardest part was adding the background which required me to cut the newspaper in specific shapes to fit around the shapes. In general,  I wanted to make something different and it turned out better than i expected.
